Clean Energy Speaker Series

The Clean Energy Speaker Series is held at the Haas School of Business during the Fall Semester. The series is a listed MBA 294 class and can be taken for credit. Speakers are often UC Berkeley and Haas alumni who are leaders in the energy, resources, or impact investing industries.

The main theme of the speaker series is to give students an introduction to a wide variety of topics and challenges in renewable energy and sustainability, while also challenging students’ view of what is possible with standout organizations and individuals. Weekly presentation topics are expected to include venture capital/accelerators, transportation, clean tech, big tech, retail sustainability, renewable energy generation & storage, electricity markets, and public policy. It is a great opportunity to explore potential career paths and make valuable connections with successful professionals and Haas alumni. Speakers typically present their firm and their role and also share their story about how they navigated the often complicated and difficult to break-into clean energy industry.

Past speakers have worked for companies such as:

  • Enel X

  • Google

  • Leap

  • Lyft

  • Makani Power

  • PG&E

  • NRG

  • Shell New Energies

  • SunPower

  • Wells Fargo Clean Energy
