Another Cleantech to Market opportunity at Haas

March 20, 2018

Are you interested in cutting edge technologies? Consider joining the Cleantech to Market (C2M) course at Haas this fall.

If you were not able to attend C2M’s info sessions last week, here are the slides. We have an extraordinary line up of tech this year from Cyclotron Road, Cleantech Open, the California Energy Commission and ARPA-E. Check out C2M’s website2018 project finalistscourse page & details. Haas team lead lead applications are due April 6, and graduate students from science, engineering, law, policy, ERG and more may apply via our website to join the course from April 9-30.

Dauntless IO – Ultra-fast, adaptive machine learning to help control chaotic and highly non-linear processes. Can help drive energy efficiency in processes such as combustion, wind, and nuclear fusion.

EnZinc – A new zinc anode that can be used to create batteries that are cleaner, safer and more affordable. Potential markets include EVs, e-bikes, drones, consumer electronics, wearables and more.

HelioBioSys – New ways to harvest cyanobacteria – which grow on air, seawater and sunlight – and process them into a variety of sustainable biomaterials including bioplastics and fossil fuel replacement chemicals.

Lucent Optics – Daylight-harvesting materials that can redirect sunlight deep into buildings to enhance daylighting, energy efficiency, glare reduction, and building comfort.

Mosaic Materials – Metal organic frameworks to lower the cost and environmental impact of gas separation technologies. Applicable to many energy-intensive industrial processes from submarines to power plants.

Opcondys – Advanced power switching that uses light to exceed the capabilities of semiconductor switches. Can save up to 50% of energy wasted in applications such as renewable energy, grid-tied storage, and high voltage power equipment.

Photia – Holographic lithography to enable high-speed, continuous nanomanufacturing of 3D materials that can be used in energy applications such as solid state lighting, radiative cooling, PV, batteries, lightweight composites and other energy systems.

Terzo Power – Ultra-efficient electro-hydrolics and direct fluid control technology to bring cleaner power to heavy-duty off-road equipment in fields such as construction, agriculture, military and mining operations.

Treau – Lightweight heat exchangers that can improve cooling and heating efficiency while reducing noise and emissions. Potential developed and developing world applications to combat predictions of skyrocketing carbon emissions associated with the global expansion of air conditioning.
