Stanford University Utilities Division seeking Energy Engineer
As our Energy Engineer, you will be part of a small team of professionals who guide and coordinate all activities aimed at reducing Stanford University’s demand for purchased energy through improved efficiency and conservation. These activities currently include major and minor energy retrofit programs, an electricity conservation incentive program, an annual winter energy curtailment, and monitoring several solar electric installations. You will support these efforts, as well as additional programs and services that may be developed in response to the University’s forthcoming greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. You will work cooperatively with colleagues within Stanford’s utilities, maintenance, and project management organizations to optimize energy performance in existing campus buildings and implement new construction performance standards. You may also assess new energy efficiency technologies, obtain rebates from PG&E, maintain energy management software applications, support student projects, perform life-cycle cost analyses, insure meter installation and accuracy, conduct energy data analysis, and carry out a mix of field work, analysis, and management/coordination for energy efficiency projects.
You should bring to the table:

Bachelor's degree in Energy or Environmental Engineering, or a related field,

At least 5 years' experience in the energy efficiency field, ideally hands-on familiarity with building systems including lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope, and plug loads,
- Proficiency with energy economics including simple payback and life-cycle cost analysis,
- Ability to read building plans and perform technical analysis (including measurement & verification) of energy technology/projects,
- Effective multitasking and spreadsheet skills, and
- Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
