BERC Social Science & Policy

Who We Are

BERC Social Science & Policy Group strives to introduce the research undertaken in Social Science in the areas of energy and resources, to BERC and the wider Berkeley community.

What We Do

BERC Social Science & Policy has created a small but growing group of students from various departments including geography, economics, sociology, public health, public policy, political science, as well as interdisciplinary programs such as environment science, policy, and management. Our bi-annual talks bring top-tiered scholars to Berkeley in order to introduce new ideas from other universities and generate much needed debate in the areas of social scientific research related to energy, climate change, resources, and sustainable development. Our first speaker in the spring of 2009 was David Victor of Stanford University who spoke about the Political Economy of Carbon Regulation.  Read about the event!
